Conclusion

I have been on a two-year track towards graduating with a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. I am thankful that I had such great professors who prepared me to have knowledge about the subject but also the evidence for each competency. I am also grateful for Professor Lei Zhang who helped guide me through the toughest writing I have ever done – the competencies. She was not only helpful she was patient and kind and for that I am grateful.

I’d also like to thank my family, especially my mom and dad. They knew that I could make it to the end and often reminded me that I could do it. I also want to dedicate my master’s degree to my grandfather and grandmother who are deceased but are always in my heart, which kept me going. As a first year graduate, I’m proud of what I have accomplished – in my studies, to what I wrote, to what I proved – I could do it!

Although I had to read, write, and research after work, I managed to carve out time. I’m so proud of myself, that I could do it all with a part time job. I also suffer from Bipolar 2 which makes me depressed a lot. For my perseverance through this mental disorder I am my most proudest.

In the future I plan to become a public librarian. I want to work in Los Angeles County in a full time position. I want to start my first library-held position as a children, teen, or young adult librarian as I like working with children and teens as an Instructional Assistant for Torrance Unified School District. If not with children, I want to work with the public in general because I’d like to work with a variety of people.

Thank you SJSU!
